The pieces in the Nottingham Lace collection are all made by rolling soft recycled silver between two pieces of vintage lace. The result is an exquisite imprint of the lace onto the metal. The silver is then formed and hardened, in a way that aims to capture the more fluid nature of lace fabric.
The gold rings that are available are 'gold-filled', or you might know this as 'rolled gold'. This is where gold is bonded onto brass. It's a thicker layer than gold plate, and is thus much more hard-wearing - but is an affordable alternative to pure gold.
